Happy New Year!

I can remember a time when I thought New Years Eve was the night of all nights... It was a time to stay up as late as you could, drink as much as you could and have as much fun as you could. Well, that's not for me any more. This is my second New Years Eve as a mom and I'm finding it so hard to stay awake til midnight! (Last year I had an 11 day old newborn and I was passed out around 9pm... Of course I was probably woken up again around midnight to breastfeed him.)

My husband on the other hand still parties like a rock star. I dropped him off at his friends house around 8pm. Must be nice to pretend like you're not a parent and do whatever it is that you want to do. If I sound bitter about it, it's because in a way I am.... I would rather us do something together as a family. Oh well... I'm over at my mom's house spending time with her and Camron... and in the end I won't look back on things and wonder about all the stuff I missed out on with our son.

Anyway, Happy New Year! Here's to 2008 being a lot better than 2007! (So far it's not looking that way though...)

If I really wanted to I could have stayed there with him, but I thought to myself, "Do I really want to stay here all night with a teething/cranky one year old??!" Not really.

We had more fun at my mom's anyway. ;)
