And life goes on...

After having several days to stew on the fact that I'll be moving so far away from home I'm coming to terms with it. And yes, 4 hours away IS far away from home for me since I've never lived more than 10 miles from my mom, dad, sister and brother!

Anyway, I'm feeling better about the whole thing. Of course I'm still thinking about all I'm going to miss about being here, but I'm also thinking more about the positive side of things. My mom and I came up with a great plan that Ronnie even agreed with! We've decided that about every 5 to 6 weeks Ronnie will drive Camron and I down here to SD. He'll hang out with us that weekend and possibly visit with all of his Marine buddies out here. On Sunday he will then drive back up North and go to work as usual. Camron and I will stay down here in my mom's guest room. We'll get to stay all week here!! I'll get to visit with friends (LIZZ!) and family (MY MOM, SISTER & HER NEW BABY!) FOR A WHOLE WEEK! The next weekend Ronnie will drive back down here and pick us up.... Either staying here in SD the rest of the weekend or driving back up either Friday or Saturday night. I think it sounds like a wonderful plan! Not looking forward to paying for all that gas, but we'll be able to budget it in. Especially if we find cheap housing....

Which brings me to another positive thing about moving... Cheaper rent in the Mojave! It's only about $800 -$900 to rent a 2 bedroom apartment out there!! And I'm talking NICE apartments! (Fitness centers, washer/dryer hook-ups, dishwasher, central air...) You can't find that here in San Diego. You're lucky if you only pay $800 for a studio... MAYBE a crappy 1 bedroom, but definitely NOT a nice 2 bedroom. So we're going to be saving a TON of money living out there in an apartment. Not really looking forward to apartment living again, but if we absolutely hate it we can always move again once we're up there for a while and know the area a bit better.

Another positive thing I've been thinking about is starting my own babywearing group out there. I haven't been able to find one in the area so I'm gonna try to spread the babywearing love out there! I just hope they don't look at me like I'm crazy. We'll see how this goes....

Back to apartment hunting!
